2020 Spring Fair and August Fair Cancellation

The Redwood Empire Fair Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to cancel both the 2020 Redwood Empire Spring Fair and the 2020 Redwood Empire Fair with the health of the community first and foremost in mind.

The decision was a very difficult one to make, considering the financial devastation many are facing in the fair industry, as well as our many community business supporters and the impact it will have on all of our carnivals, concessionaires, sponsors, patrons, exhibitors and those who participate in our motorized activities.

Historically, the Redwood Empire Fair is an economic engine generating tangible benefits beyond the educational, cultural, and agricultural traditions generating approximately $8,262,000 in spending activities which benefit the local economy and create a ripple effect of economic benefit for the state. The equivalent of 93 jobs are created as a result of spending by the Redwood Empire Fair, its support businesses and its attendees. The Redwood Empire Fair generates business tax revenue through the collection of state and local sales taxes, transient occupancy taxes, possessory interest taxes and other taxes and fees. These revenues further generate economic activity by providing for programs to benefit the local community.

We will work hard to make 2021 Fairs the place to showcase your works of art, flowers, quilts, show your animals, and meet up with your friends and neighbors. At this time, the Fair is looking for an online auction program as well as a possible virtual show to support our youth exhibitors who have raised market animals, some who have been working on their projects for the last year. We are truly grateful for the huge outpouring of support we have received in the past at the Fair and auction. During these unprecedented times we are going to continue to work towards offering the same high-quality auction animals for purchase. We will continue to be forward facing and prepared to serve, if needed, during fire season. We are truly thankful for the community’s support in years past and will miss our Fair family and community. See you at the Fair in 2021.
